Ben gave me quite a scare two nights ago...
He started having chest pains (which we both thought might be a panic attack) and we decided that I'd take him to the hospital. I went to change and by the time I returned he was hurting so much that he couldn't get off the floor. Since he was upstairs, I knew there was no way I could carry him downstairs by myself, so I called for an ambulance. They took him to the E.R. at the hospital here on post and I followed in the car. Later that evening, the doctor ruled out a panic attack and decided to transport Ben to the 'big hospital' off post, which is a civilian hospital, in order to rule out a mild heart attack. The next day (yesterday) the cardiologist came to talk to us and told us that he'd ruled out a heart attack. (Big relief!) As a matter of fact, he said that Ben's heart was very healthy. However, he has to follow up with the hospital here on post in order to determine just what is going on. He has an appointment in the morning to do just that. In the meantime, Ben's release papers from the hospital say 'resume normal activity gradually', so today, he's doing nothing but resting in bed. As for me... I'll be spending the day 'just being' with him.
