P365: Day 23 - Football
Football isn't normally watched at our house. I don't like it and Ben usually doesn't watch sports on tv. Today, however, he decided to watch it and enjoyed doing so. It was nice to see him do something other than play his online game, even if it was just him watching another type of game.

P365: Day 21 - Cold Winter Day
Of winter's lifeless world each tree
Now seems a perfect part;
Yet each one holds summer's secret
Deep down within its heart.

Casual Friday - 5 Highlights from this past week
Ben's back has been really bothering him lately, I'm coming down with something (have had a low grade fever and felt yucky the last few days), and the pups have been extra lazy all week.
We've been doing a little bit of this:
2. New International Delight creamer flavor: Almond Joy
I'm sad that I can't get Marshmallow Mocha any longer, but I just may have found a new favorite to replace it. I'm loving the new Almond Joy flavored creamer!
3. Quote
I love quotes and have quite a collection of them saved. This week I came across a new one to add to my collection. It reminds me of my best friend and the kind of relationship we have. I never have to wonder where I stand with her, nor does she with me. We both know, without a shadow of a doubt, that if one of us needs a good swift kick, the other will be right there to oblige. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times over the years she has put things into perspective for me or opened my eyes. I may not always like hearing what she has to say... she may not always like hearing what I have to say... but we say what is on our minds and what may need to be said, without hesitation.
The quote:
But what is the good of friendship if one cannot say exactly what one means? Anybody can say charming things and try to please and to flatter, but a true friend always says unpleasant things, and does not mind giving pain. Indeed, if he is a really true friend he prefers it, for he knows that then he is doing good. -Oscar Wilde
4. American Idol
Very excited that American Idol started back this week! Even more excited that Ben is actually watching it with me... at least for now! I'm very hopeful about the new judges and think they were perfect picks for the show. It's going to be a good AI season. I just know it!
5. More snow!
It snowed all day yesterday and we ended up having nearly 5 inches of snow. According to the weatherman, we still might get more.

P365: Day 18 - All ready for snow, but it's raining
The weatherman predicted snow for today, so Tank and Lucy were ready. Instead, it ended up raining all day.
As a side note, Tank's scarf is a very special scarf. It's the one we brought him home in when he was a puppy. (It was Ben's, but transferred ownership that day.) It's hard to believe he used to be small enough to be wrapped entirely in that same scarf and not just his neck!

P365: Day 16 - Mistake
Today, Ben and I made a quick run to the store to grab dog food and coffee creamer. We should have known not to go while both of us were hungry. Bad mistake. Bad, bad, bad mistake! At least we had a $2 coupon, right?! ;)

P365: Day 15 - One tired pup
It's hard work playing with one ducky. It's even harder work playing with two!

P365: Day 14 - Date Day
Friday night is normally "date night" for Ben and I. Today, however, we decided to do "date day", instead. We did some running around and had lunch out. This picture (and several others) was taken as we were headed out. I think Ben actually took this one. However, it was the best out of all we took, so I'm using it as today's photo anyway.
(Yes, that is still a Christmas wreath on our door. Don't judge!)
Casual Friday - 5 Highlights
1. Answered prayer!
On Tuesday of this past week a prayer was answered. It wasn't just simply or quietly answered, either. This time, God answered it in a big, loud, booming voice. There was no misinterpreting or misunderstanding. The answer was a definite "NO!" (Not no in a bad way. At least not for me. Just no.)
2. Lots of laughter and fun on Sunday
Just for fun, I snapped continuous pictures of Ben as he was taking the tree down on Sunday. I managed to turn him into a ghost, take off an arm, and make him headless. Doesn't take much to humor us! (You can click the image to view it a little larger)
3. Snow here, there, and everywhere!
Loved seeing all the pretty snow pictures from back home this past week. They ended up getting 10+ inches, which is very rare for Chattanooga. These are some pictures from my parent's house:
(That's my baby brother in the far left, bottom corner)
4. Cuddle Duds!
My mother got me a couple of pairs for Christmas. I wore them for the first time this past week after it snowed. Love them!! I seriously want to live in them! Note to self: Must buy more asap!
5. Season premiere of Off the Map!
I really enjoyed the first episode. I have a feeling it's gonna be a keeper just like Grey's and Private Practice.

P365: Day 10 - Today
Today's agenda:
1. ID renewal for me
2. Ben's doctor appointment
3. McDonald's for lunch
It was easiest for me to take a picture while in the car today (with Ben driving, of course).

P365: Day 9 - Goodbye Christmas!
Ben and I spent the day taking down the Christmas tree and packing up all the decorations. We prolonged it as long as we could. It's actually early for us this year.
My thoughts as we were doing this were bittersweet, to say the least. In the back of my mind, I kept thinking of the wonderful memories we made with family this year, but also thinking of the (very real) possibility that next year Christmas might be spent alone. Just me and the pups. I'm not sure how I'll handle this if it becomes a reality, but I'll have to cross that bridge when I get to it. For now, there are too many other things that need my attention for our upcoming move.
Goodbye Christmas... Wish you didn't have to leave so soon!
